1. Overview & Commitment

This Privacy Policy explains how Overlap: Time Zone & Meeting Matrix ("Overlap", "the Application", "we", "our") handles user information.

We believe privacy is a fundamental human right. Overlap was intentionally built as a standalone utility for distributed teams and global workers that computes time zones locally without requiring remote servers or cloud accounts.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect any personal data or usage metrics whatsoever. Specifically:

• No Personally Identifiable Information (PII): We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contact books, or identifiers.
• No User Accounts: No sign-up, sign-in, authentication, or profile creation is required to use the Application.
• No Location Tracking: We do not access GPS, Wi-Fi networks, cellular towers, or real-time location data. Any city or time zone you select is picked manually by you.
• No Analytics or Telemetry: We do not track in-app button clicks, sessions, screen views, or engagement metrics.
• No Advertising Trackers: The Application contains zero advertisements and zero advertising SDKs (such as Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, etc.).

3. Local On-Device Data Storage

To deliver a seamless user experience across app restarts and power cycles, Overlap saves your functional preferences locally on your physical device using Android's native DataStore:

• Your designated primary "Home" time zone (e.g., Asia/Dubai).
• Your selected comparative team time zones / tracks (up to 6).
• Your preferred work hours window (e.g., 09:00 to 18:00).
• Your display preferences (12-hour AM/PM vs. 24-hour military format).

4. Device Permissions

Overlap complies strictly with the principle of least privilege. The Application does not request any sensitive permissions:

• Zero Network / Internet Permission: The Application does not declare or request the android.permission.INTERNET permission in its Android Manifest. It is technically incapable of sending data over the Internet.
• No Camera or Microphone Access.
• No Storage / File Access: Does not request access to your external storage, photos, or media files.
• No Contacts / Calendar Access: Does not read your calendar events or address book.

5. Home Screen Widgets

Overlap provides home screen widgets (Golden Window Summary and Multi-Zone Matrix Clock) to let you view your team's local times at a glance.

These widgets read data exclusively from your local device's settings and Android's built-in IANA timezone database. They do not initiate background network sync or transmit your widget configuration anywhere.

6. Third-Party Services & SDKs

The Application does not bundle or link any third-party software development kits (SDKs), advertising networks, analytics tools (such as Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Mixpanel), or trackers.

7. Children's Privacy

Overlap is a general-audience productivity tool suitable for all ages. Because the Application does not collect, retain, or share any personal information from any user, it fully complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), GDPR-K, and applicable global child data protection regulations.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect future app enhancements or regulatory updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" revision date. Since our core architecture is strictly offline and private, our commitment to zero data collection remains permanent.
